In the quest of research... a friendship evolved
E-mails between Elli Wise and Lester Seibold
May 13, 2004 Dear Elli,
I am positively amazed at all the data that has been compiled. I don't know how to thank you enough for your work in preparing these files. I know it must have been tedious and have required much time to accuracy and detail.
Now we have more records that will be referred to many times. This is a historic block of people from Germany originally, thence to Russia and then for a hundred years residents of the Dobrudscha. The story does not end there but continues on to America and of special interest to me, North Dakota. It all added to the America as we know it. May God Bless your work. It will take me much time to go over it all. Thank you again.
Very Sincerely Yours, Lester G. Seibold
May 16, 2004 Dear Elli,
I did get a chance to visit Kiev for a short time. I found the village where my grandfather was born. The family had copies of records of Baptism and witnesses from the church in Atmagea.
I enjoyed my trip to Germany in 1980. It was there that I discovered and visited my ancestral town in Germany.
I too, relived the past of my ancestors because I am a retired farmer. I was there in September. My family did keep accounts that stirred my interest. I feel one has to have a bit of romanticism and sentimentality to research how and why we came to be. Sincerely, Lester
May 20, 2004 Dear Elli,
I am looking forward to the Convention. My Seibold family left the Dobrudscha in 1885 and my Blumhagen grandparents left in 1902.
My ancestral town in Germany is Metzingen. Every Christmas I receive a newspaper from Metzingen telling about the years events. I wish I could read and understand German better.
In addition my wife's father was born in Ciucurova in 1898. Her mother was born in Friedenstal, Bessarabia. Her maiden name was Eisenbarth.
This is asking much too much for you to research. You have already furnished much for the files. Mit besten Grussen, Lester
