Projects in Planning
When anyone considers a project, it is strongly recommended they (1) contact the Clearing House to ensure that they are not duplicating other people's work, and (2) to ' gain insight into project planning to ensure that the lessons learned from other projects are taken into account early on.
New LPS Policy
The LDS has imposed new requirements regarding indexing of their films. The Clearing House has established liaison contact with the office responsible for processing such requests. We are prepared to assist those persons or teams preparing to take on such projects. Early contact with the Clearing House will avoid possible embarrassment or difficulties regarding such film indexing projects.
GRHS "Members Data" On CD
There has been a plea from GRHS membership for more "information." The information flow has increased dramatically over the past few years, and we can no longer attempt to share things only in paper form. Putting things on the webpages for the membership has helped a lot, but not all of the data we put there is getting to all members. Many members have asked for such data to also be placed on a computer media, such as CD or DVD, and sold at a reasonable cost.
This wish became reality at the 2006 Convention with the introduction of six CDs. These CDs are sold only to GRHS members, as the data contained on them is "members-only" data. Cost of these CDs is very reasonable. They're designed to be of help to the researcher as well as those who are interested in our ancestors' history.
