September 25, 2004 Hi Elli
Your response to my request is just tops. Thank you so much. Your comments tell so much. You are a very talented person, willing to share.
First of all, I was not sure what EWZ meant. Your attachment explained it all right from the top. There is nothing that I can suggest to change or add. "These EWZ files can bring families together, especially for those who did not come to America when their relatives did."
These records are just as important as the records when our forefathers left Germany after 1763. I feel so privileged to have met and visited with Karl Stumpp and a host of other outstanding individuals. I noted the passing of my good friend Adam Giesinger. You have these same fine qualities. Maybe just maybe I can trace the Blumhagen name back to Germany.
Please excuse my short note of appreciation. May I continue to hear from you.
Very Truly Yours, Lester

Wow! I just came in from mowing the lawn and thought, maybe I heard from Elli. Sure enough, there was your welcome E-mail. I had a German researcher search the church records. He came up with nothing. Then he surmised it may have been the Colony Mecklenburg in Poland. Nothing again I was fortunate enough to purchase a book in German entitled Die Deutschen in der Dobrudscha by Paul Traeger. This book has been translated to English by Heritage Review. I would call your attention to Vol. 16, No. 3 dated September 1986. Both of my families have been mentioned I visited with Karl Stumpp at the GRHS Convention in Fargo, ND. I did give many lectures in North Dakota about my trip to Romania. There was much interest. Lest its too confusing, I went to Romania in 1977. Long story there too. My pleasure to meet you and maybe we can put more together.
With Utmost Admiration, —-
